Math Worksheets Borrowing

math worksheets borrowing
Question: I have a math worksheet to work on and we just started a new unit today. Help please???

The unit is on Simple Interest, and the question is asking to

calculate the simple interest in each situation:

a.) $4250 invested at 6%/a for 38 months.

b.) $5000 borrowed at 5.75%/a for 45 weeks.

The interest in both of these questions is $4520 and $5000

respectively. The rate is 6%- 0.06% and 5.75% – 0.0575%

respectively. The time is 38 months and 45 weeks respectively.

The formula is I = Prt. My question is how do you change months

and weeks into years because time has to be in years. I need

urgent help! Someone please come to my rescue!!!

Answer: well first off, a year has 12 months or 52 weeks. second, the principle amounts are $4250 and $5000, you are being asked to calculate the interest. I’m not familiar with your formula so maybe if you tell us what each variable stands for we could help more.

Division

Out of four fundamental math operations, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and division, division is regarded as the most difficult by many math learners. The good news is there are many free division worksheets to help you practice division. Once you get the hang of it, division is not that hard.

When you first learn about division, you often learn about Long Division. There are many free division worksheets with Long Division problems. There are even Long Division worksheets alone. The more division worksheets you do, the better you will get at doing division.

What is division?

First of all the symbol for division is:

division symbol

But there are a few ways to show that a number is divided by another number as follows. Let’s have as a division example, 6 divided by 2. We can write this as:

division

So, you can use the division symbol between 6 and 2, or put 6 at the top and 2 at the bottom separated by a line or 6 on the left and 2 on the right separated by a slanted line.

So, what does a division Mean? When you divide a number by another number, say divide 6 by 2, you are asking how many times 2 can go into 6. Let’s see an illustration of division.

Division example

In this illustration of division, there are 6 balls in the top row and 2 balls in the bottom. To divide 6 by 2 is to ask how many times, the 2 balls below can fit into the 6 balls above. The answer is 3. As you can see, you can group 6 balls into 3 groups of 2 balls.

So whenever you are solving a division problem. Think of how many times the smaller number can be fitted into the larger number and if there is any number left, either call it a remainder or keep dividing into decimals. For example, if there were 7 balls instead of 6. Then 7 divided by 2 is 3 with 1 as a remainder or 3.5 as the answer.

Math Worksheets Long Division

Question: Math Worksheets???

Ok, so I tutor these two 4th grade girls. I give them Math Worksheets all the time but sometimes it gets really boring. I don’t know what else to give them because they need help in simple Division, muliplication. When I was that age my teacher used to give us Math Worksheets with a joke and if you got alll the questions right, the awnser to the joke was revealed and it made sence. I’ve been looking for worksheets like that for a really long time online and in bookstores. Is there ary website I can go to to print out worksheets like that? Or any books taht I can buy like that?
Thank you so much for helping!

Answer: There are books out there, but games are so much more fun and interactive. You can play all kinds of games with dice and cards. Get them chalkboards or dry-erase boards and have races solving problems. Use ads out of the paper to reinforce percentages and fractions. (you show me a girl who can’t learn percentages figuring out sales prices!!) The ads can also be used for money skills, Multiplication and Division. ( you’ve got $20, how many shirts can you buy for 4.66 each) Get away from the worksheets…. they get enough of that from their classroom teacher!
