Question: I So Need Help WIth Math Homework!!! Dividing Decimals?

I think im doing the whole worksheet wrong!! for my first question it says 7 divided by 9.375 and i got 1.339 then i checked it on the calculator and it says .7466666 what did i do wrong?? This happens on all of mine!! SOSOSOS

Answer: You are doing 9.375 divided by 7. which gives you 1.339

Then question is 7 divided by 9.375.
7/9.375 not 9.375/7

Question: My 13 year old has been really slacking with homework lately?

I have four daughters, so I’m pretty much used to a lot of their moods and attitudes, but ever since maybe a week and a half ago, one of my daughters has been completely out of character. She usually finishes her homework with an average amount of “I hate this!” but she’ll get it done; the past week and a half, I see her up at 10:00 still doing homework, and I know she doesn’t get too much (she takes mostly basic courses, which are below standard courses). She has never had a problem with this before, but she doesn’t seem to be up for it these days. She just finished her homework a half hour ago, a math worksheet, reading a chapter from a book, and reading an article for history. She had ballet after school until 5:00 and started her homework at 5:30. Anyway, it’s just strange behavior for her lately and I was hoping that someone could give me some advice for ways to help her just get it over with? It’s not like it’s taking a long time, it’s that she lallygags while doing it. Thanks!

Answer: If she isn’t able to stay on task by herself, consider buying an inexpensive kitchen timer and give her a time limit to complete a certain number of questions. If she is able to CORRECTLY complete the work before the bell goes off, she wins a prize. (some inexpensive school supply item)

Resist the temptation to berate her about her timeliness issues. She’s still a kid and can still learn to manage her time better.

Could she possibly be tired from her extracurricular activities?

Question: grade 9 math problem ?

I have a test tommorow, and im trying to do a review package the teacher gave us, but i came across a question asking for the definition of ‘initial value”

its no were in the textbook, and the only place i found it was in a worksheet
i have
find the initial value of y
the answer was: when x=01, y=-2 therefore b=-2

if anyone knows the definition i’d be very happy if you shared

Answer: initail means first, so where y=1, that’s it. enjoy algebra.
