Math Worksheets Improper Fractions

Question: What am I doing wrong? Order Operations and Fractions.?

I am reteaching myself math in hopes of testing out of college classes. I have a fairly firm understand of Order of Operations and Fractions. After several worksheets of 100% scores I have run into a problem that’s really confusing me.

0.4 X 11/6 x 2.75 x 5 1/4

I of course converted decimals to fractions (yeah technically the same). I think my problem lies in simplifying 0.4 and 11/6 by reducing 2/5 (numerator) and 11/6 (denominator) . When I dont do this I get the right answer but I would like to know why. Is it that the 11/6 is improper?
Looks like I did everything right with the exception of forgetting to cross cancel the 21/4!

Answer: 0.4 X 11/6 x 2.75 x 5 1/4 I would first change the decimals to fractions and reduce each one. That would make it:
2/5 x 11/6 x 2 3/4 x 5 1/4 Then change the 2 mixed numbers into improper fractions:
2/5 x 11/6 x 11/4 x 21/4 You can then cross reduce to get:
1/5 x 11/1 x 11/4 x 7/4 = 847/80 or 10 47/80 or 10.5875
