Mean Median Mode
Mean Median Mode refers to three math terms, the mean, the median, and the mode. Mean, median, and mode are often studied together since they are closely related. This section of Math Worksheets information website will explore the definition of Mean, median, mode as well as how to use them.
The average
The average is sometimes confused with the mean. Not all means are averages. Simple mean and arithmetic mean are the same as the average. Geometric mean, however, is not the average. So, be specific when using the term mean and average.
The Median
Median is the easiest concept of Mean Median and Mode. Median is simply the middle number of any series of numbers.
The Mean
Simple mean and arithmetic mean are just like the average. But, geometric mean is more difficult to calculate.
The Mode
The mode is the most frequently occurring value in the data set. Sometimes there is a bit of ambiguity in the selection of the mode. For example, two different values may both be tied for the most frequently occurring value. In this case, both values will be considered a mode of the data set.
