Question: Some exponent and polynomial questions? Help Please?
I am working on a worksheet in my algebra 2 class (online) and need some help on these questions. I will provide the question. They will be copied directly from my worksheet. Also, I need to get this done so that I can have my Christmas vacation off. Any help is greatly appreciated! Please provide how you got the answer so that I can understand them.
8. Simplify. Write the answer with positive exponents.
[(-8x^3y^-2) / (5z^5)]^2
11. Simplify.
If P(x) = 4x^2 + 5x – 2 and Q(x) = -9x^2 – 4, find 4[P(x)] – Q(x).
A. 25×2 – 20x – 4
B. -25×2 + 20x – 4
C. 25×2 + 20x – 4
D. 25×2 + 20x + 4
12. Simplify.
If P(x) = 5x + 2, find P(-x).
A. -7x
B. -5x – 2
C. -5x + 2
D. 5x – 2
13. Simplify by combining like terms.
-8x^2 – 3x + 9x + 5x
A. -8×2 + 6x + 5
B. 1080x^5
C. -8×2 + 11x
D. -8×2 + 6x
Thank you for any help that you provide. Happy Holidays!
Answer: = [ -8(x³)(yˉ²) ⁄ [5(z^5)] ]²
= [ -8(x³) ⁄ [5(y²)(z^5)] ]²
= 64(x^6) ⁄ [25(y^4)(z^10)]
= (2.56)(x^6) ⁄ [(y^4)(z^10)]

If P(x) = 4x² + 5x − 2 and Q(x) = -9x² − 4, find 4[P(x)] − Q(x)
4[P(x)] − Q(x) = 4[4x² + 5x − 2] − [-9x² − 4]
= 16x² + 20x − 8 + 9x² + 4
= 25x² + 20x − 4 which is answer C.
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
P(x) = 5x + 2
P(-x) = -5x + 2 which is answer C.
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
-8x² − 3x + 9x + 5x = -8x² + 11x which is answer C.
