X/3 + Y/2 = -4
x – 3y = 6

well the directions say I can solve it by using elimination or substitution.

I tried both but, the answers came out as fractions…
my teacher said there would be no fractions in ths worksheet.

UM please heelp.

Answer: x = 6 + 3y

(6 + 3y)/3 + y/2 = -4
2 + y + y/2 = -4
3y/2 + 2 = -4
3y/2 = -6
3y = -12
y = -4

x = 6 + 3(-4)
x = 6 – 12
x = -6

y = -4, x = -6
