Math Worksheets Integers

Question: Please help with this math problem. I can’t figure it out no matter what I do? Its probably easy for you!?

This is the only problem on my worksheet that I can’t figure out no matter what.

Please help mee!
“One negative integer is 5 great than two times another and the difference of their squares is 13. Find the integers”

Form my understanding, the problems are: -x=2y+5 and |x^2 – y^2| = 13

Answer: The -x is incorrect. The problem is only telling you that the integers you’re looking for are both negative, so the first equation should be x = 2y+5.

Since the difference of squares can be factored to (x+y)(x-y), I’d change that to (3y+5)(y+5) with a substitution.

|3y^2 + 20y + 25| = 13
3y^2 + 20y + 25 = ±13

So that’s two different equations that can be solved, keeping in mind that x and y are both negative.

3y^2 + 20y + 12 = 0
(3y+2)(y+6)=0

3y^2 + 20y + 38 = 0
This is unfactorable.

Since y=-2/3 would Mean y is not an integer, y must be -6. That means x=2(-6)+5=-7. The difference of squares between -7 and -6 is 13, so this is definitely the answer.

Algebra Worksheets For 6th Grade

Question: Hey peoplez! please help with algebra? no text book =(?

Ey people, Well ya im in highschool first year…a freshman….FRESH MEAT! haha well ya ummm Im in algebra1 and I was absent for like…4 days and I missed aton of stuff we did, and we have a HUGE test which will be like 72% of our grade =/ so I can you guys answer these questions? These are some questions I made up and some I found on a worksheet we did today. These are basically the ones I dont understand. Also try answering all of them because I wanna write them down on my cheat sheet which I can use tomorrow. =]

Name the property

36 + 3 = 3 + 36

1 x Z2 = Z2

12x + 12y = 12(x + y)

(9y2) x 0 = 0

(9 + 1)x + 7 = 10x + 7

ab + 2d = ba + 2d

(6 x m) x n = 6 x (m+n)

9p + 9z = 9(p + z)

Answer: Let’s see, well the properties=
Commutative Property= a+b=b+a or ab=ba
Distributive property= a(b+c)=ab+ac
Associative Property= a+(b+c)=(a+b)+c or a(bc)=(ab)c
Identity Property= 1 times a=a, or 0+a=a
Property of 0= anything times 0=0!!!
Those are all the ones you need for this assignment, it seems. But what? Freshman.. algebra 1?

See, like for the first one, it’s commutative since they just swap them.

Definition of Fractions

The fraction a/b where a is the numerator and b is the denominator means a is being divided by b. The denominator of a fraction can never be zero because any numbers divided by zero is undefined mathematically.

If the numerator is greater than the denominator, the fraction is an improper fraction. When the number can be represented as a whole number and a fraction, then it is called a mixed number. An example of a mixed number is 8 ¼ or 34 ¾.
